Walking into the Plate on Central Avenue is like entering the kitchen of a dear friend.

Walking into the Plate on Central Avenue is like entering the kitchen of a dear friend. You’ll be welcomed with open arms and fed some of the most delicious comfort food around. Nestled in Milton’s Lower Mills neighborhood, our cozy shop opened it’s doors in 2012 and we’ve been delighting customers ever since. On January 31, 2017,  the shop introduced a brand new “egg-centric” menu.  Chef + Owner, Suzanne Lombardi decided to take the sandwich that put The Plate on the map and run with it!  That sandwich is the beloved Classic Egg with cheddar cheese, roasted tomato, arugula and aioli.  Coming up on their five-year anniversary, it seemed like the perfect time to have some fun with the menu. While the menu has changed at Central, The Plate’s mission has not. The restaurant continues to offer locally sourced comfort food using fresh and seasonal ingredients.

The shop opens it’s doors at 7am, Tues-Sat, offering up lovely breakfast treats such as our very own seasonal drop scones, crazy good cinnamon toast, coffee and tea.  Choose something from our creative Egg Sandwich Menu which includes variations on our Classic Egg, as well as designer Egg + Carne sandwiches, such as marinated pulled pork, cheddar and pickled cucumbers, and the Asian house-made sausage with hoisin, chard and scallion on a grilled brioche bun. “Greens + Scales” showcases specialty egg sandwiches with veggies and seafood, like the grilled eggplant, feta cheese, salsa verde, and arugula as well as the house-smoked salmon sandwich with herbed goat cheese and arugula. You can enjoy our egg sandwiches all day long till 3:00pm.

Weekends are hopping! We’re open Saturday from 7am-3pm and Sunday 8am-3pm.  Enjoy your meal inside at our counter seating all year round or outdoors during the warm weather months

Other menu items  include ready made salads made fresh daily, small batch seasonal soups and a selection of homey sweets courtesy of our own Pastry Chef, Paige Retus.
