Cooking with Alternative Grains


Join Suzanne and Michelle as they chart a course for a culinary adventure with alternative grains!

Along the way you’ll discover savory pleasures bursting with flavor and also so good for you! You’ll learn to prepare several family-style dishes including a twist on the middle eastern fattoush salad with toasted bulgur and pomegranate molasses. Next up is winter delicata squash and watercress salad with a base of farro cooked in apple cider and you’re sure to adopt this herbed quinoa with preserved lemon and toasted almonds as your new go to side dish.

An array of grains will be on display and charts are included to help you become familiar with soaking, storage, and cooking techniques.

Price: $75, includes cooking demonstration, take home recipes, tastings and 2 glasses of wine or local beer.

The Plate on the second floor of the Milton Marketplace is hosting this event. Seating will be limited. Tickets will be available for online purchase only.

Refund policy: Payments for classes and special events at The Plate are non-refundable. If you find yourself unable to attend, you may transfer the ticket to someone else. However, we are unable to refund fees and all payments are final.
